Table salt are processed salt and it is not suitable for aquarium usage... Use rock salt or those specially made aquarium salt where a price is to be paid..

Salt is a based of sodium chloride. Many microorganisms cannot live in an overly salty environment: water is drawn out of their cells by osmosis. For this reason salt is used to preserve some foods or fish and can also be used to detach leeches that have attached themselves to feed. It has also been used to disinfect wounds.
Table salt
Table salt consists of tiny cubes tightly bound together through ionic bonding of the sodium and chloride ions. Table salt is refined salt, 99% sodium chloride. It usually contains substances that make it free-flowing (anti-caking agents) such as sodium silicoaluminate or magnesium carbonate.Table salt has a particle density of 2.165 g/cm3, and a bulk density (dry, ASTM D 632 gradation) of about 1.154 g/cm3.[23]
House salt / Cooking salt
Same base of sodium chloride.Mandatory specifications for food grade, drug/medical and analytical use include Food Chemicals Codexare used to measure salinity.
Common salt or sodium chloride is considered by the Food and Drug Administration as safe for its intended use.
Comparision aspect : Pet store salt and house for cooking salt, minerals aspect are the same. Extended features and the composition or the additives/preservative to the salt to be observe. Some company/ brand has its own chemical additives / preservative (maybe)
To me both kind are safe to use, provided there is no toxic or polluted by other means

Its true bro..
Im also using cooking salt for my ranchu during my breeding goldfish time.Im buying 25kg of it each time.Im using salt as antibacteria n to treat anchor worm, fish lice n white spot disease. Its also good to treat skin n gill flukes.I also performed salt dip using this salt.Very powerful n cheap compare other medicine on shelf.I never use any chemical stuff to treat my fish.By the way,I learn this from my sifu rearing top view ranchu in Japan. He is a breeder of tvr for about 30years.:011:

Should not be a problem . If you must use table salt, use the one without any additives such as iodine and anti-caking agents .

Having stating the above, even in case of table salt that has iodine and anti-caking agents in it, a lilttle amount here and there , is not going to kill your fish .Just don't abuse it, and remember arowana is a freshwater fish, and not a brackish water fish . Good luck bro .

I always use rock salt (without iodine) for my fish tanks. I heard that iodine salt was really toxicant towards freshwater fish.
