need advise for canister filter

as above mentioned, intend to put 1 canister filter for my 5ft tank, main purpose is to use surface skimmer, so that all the particles or whatever floated in water will so called be cleaned. currently using OHF with media CR and bacteria house.

question, what kind of media is best to use for the purpose of surface skimmer. best if the media can tahan or need to clean once a month or best once every 2 month. any advice. thanks in advance.

bro i used sub-pump. dun think can leh. if not wrong somebody got post this issue before, but it seems quite impossible unless u used so-called the 'above water level' pump. u know wat i mean. dun kno how to explain.

I recently bought ehiem canister filter. it very good but price abit expensive

can use bio-home better cox if u think of using cannister whr the BB will live best in dark enviroment.
ohf can use a mod t-joint on the pipping near the surface something like a surface cleaner, powered will the force of the sub-pump .

bro, it depends on your media and how frequent u clean your ohf. frankly speaking, when i use ohf, never wash the media for almost 6 months, only change the white sponge. water still clean.

IMO, use the surface skimmer with the ohf. Easier to clean. Use the cannister as a pure biological filtration as it is harder to clean.
