Let me share my experience for moving a aro just yesterday. Trying to help fren to shift one 16" Red from one tank to another tank.
First drain the 4ft tan water to 1/3 of the tank to avoid aro from jumping. After drain the water to 1/2 of the tank, seeing the aro very calm, and think is ok, so we did not use transmore, while trying to lead the aro to the plastic bag, the aro suddenly feeling very stress and start jumping aro. Lucky the water was drain off orelse, u can see the aro laying on the floor liao, and while jumping, it injured some scale.
So no choice, as for the fish shop bro to help using transmore, what he do, just squeese the transmore into the tank, like what we do for anti chlorine, I can see is about 1/4 of the bottle cos later I can fill the transmore is quite empty liao. After pouring the transmore into the tank, he just slowly push the aro near to the pour transmore liquid, slowly, u can see the aro is going to sleep , not jumpy anymore.
There, we try to lead the aro into the bag again, and this timje , it work. And Happily transfer the aro to a new tank. According to the fish shop bro said, once you put the aro into a new tank, it will wake up again. True enought, once we transfer it to thje new tank, it become live again.
So IMHO, if you are shifting a big aro, try to use transmore. Hope this will help...

depends on your aro. if your aro big, better use transmore (in fact i never use before). if small, can use plastic bag.
from my experience when i transfer my pg from 3ft to 5ft tank, only used plastic bag. and the aro was calm and never jump. easy transaction for me.

When we try to trf this aro about 16", starting is very calm, but when u try to lure the aro into the plstic bag, it refuse and start jumping, luckily the water level is low liao orelse u imagine what will happen.,so just get transmore will solve all the problem.

if near only (note exceed 12 hours) don't worry just use plastic bag and oxygen ok already.

Let me share my experience for moving a aro just yesterday. Trying to help fren to shift one 14" Red from one tank to another tank.

strongly agree with what u say. But remember that dont add any water of the transmore into the tank or place u going to transfer to, just fish will do no transmore. Too Much transmore will harm the fish.

Must use prawn bag and not those ordinary bag as they can't withstand the knock from your big aro.
Suggest you use transmore as yours is a big fish and the water + fish will be very heavy for u to carry it out from your existing tank. So just use transmore and carry just the fish or fish in the prawn bag with very little water. Once u transferred to the FGT, open out the bag and slowly release the Aro out.
Good luck and all the best!
