Bro, is IOS right and not IOS....???

I prefer OHF cos can put put media, but interm of maintaining, I think OHF is also easier, cos IOS u need to remove the media will caused lot of dirt goin into your tank.

Don't make life hard bro make it simple and effective just have the external canister loooo...... Very performance. Cause before this i has used the OHF or IOS the efficiency of filtring is not good enough if you compare it to ECF... You don't regret when you use the ECF. Believe me bro !!!:thumbs_up: :thumbs_up: :thumbs_up:

Just My Point Of View:teeth_smile:

If i have to choose from IOS or OHF, i will go for IOS, but the IOS must come with under and overflow system. So that both nitrate and ammonia and also oil surface will be filtered.

For IOS,
Advantage:
- overflow and underflow system;
- pump not inside the tank;
- able to remove amonia from the surface of the water;

Disadvantage:
- the system will take away some tank space from your tank;
- look ugly with the media on the side of the tank;
- difficult to maintain depending on the size of the IOS;
- Once you decided to stop using the IOS, the IOS filter is still taking up space in your tank unless you are using those detachable one.

For OHF,
Advantage:
- easier to maintain since the tray are stackable;
- When not required, just remove it and replaced with other types of filter;
- Will not take up extra space in your tank.

Disadvantage:
- pump inside the tank;
- not able to remove amonia from the surface of the water. Required surface skimmer;
- may look ugly on top of the tank;

well if i were to use ios, i will setup on the back of aquarium, so from front u dont actually see the media or anything filtering. another advantage is u got space at bottom so u can put another tank if u want, 2 tier. i'm sure ios at back wont take much space as the length is sure larger thus can arrange filters compartments to works at its best. but. . . hard to reach for maintainance, haha. nothing is perfect :p
