I was told that the blue hue will fade as time goes by. In order to maintain the blue hue (which i like best) feeding cricket can help to prevent the blue hue from disappearing. True or not ? I do not know. My ex EBXB has good blue hues at 18" becasue I fed a lot of crickets after I knew about this info.

yes...eventually...all crossbacks will turn gold along with age....eventually more golden colouration will start covering the blue base...but from a certain angle..u can still catch the blue shine... colouration (lighter or stronger blue)depends of a many factors too...genes, lighthings..environment and pH...

cheers...

bro lim..i agree with u on this....pure thin framed xbacks are rare ...from what ive observed ,usually the frame of a thin framed fella will most probably maintain its frame ,even if the frame starts 2 thicken and "eats" in, the gold colouration of its frame will not be as strong as the thick framed ones.....usually, a true thin framed xback will display a very solid base colour...

just my 20cents.. :o

well said, actually it depend on a lot of factor, the father and mother of the fish, also when young the base colour is dark or light in colour, also the food they eat.
