Why, cos recently my 4ft tank centre piece glass panel whole piece fall off and whole OHF sink inside the tank and I was not around at that moment. Lucky the RTG did not jump out.. And I can't glue it back, so I used to PVC pipe to support both end of the glass.
Both this retrict my space of the tank. So yesterday, I found one OHF with those base long tray with solid base and replace the old thin tray which will sag down if my filter media is too heavy.
After done up the OHF yesterday, look nice and create bigger space now.
This morning while I was leaving the hse to work, suddenly I heard a long bang sound, thinking something happen in my kitchen, when reach there, OMG, saw the other end of the supporting glass panel give way cos of the heavy filter box, and the whole filter media drop ionto the tank.
That why I said lucky is because I am still around...orelse something worst will happen. Due to goin to work, temp. put a glass panel across the tank and lay the filter box onto the top of the tank instead of sitting on the silicon supporting panel again, but part of the filter media still in the tank, no time to clear.... ..............Thinking of getting a cabinet tank with sunp...but not enough $$$$$

bro, from the way u sexplain, maybe your euro bracing problem, is it? if it is, another alternative, buy canister filter. and to make the tank more presentable, buy hood.
