Gentlemen, need urgent help!

Two days ago I saw one red spot (similar to pimples) on the pectoral fin of my 13 inch RTG. There appears to be root (or like worm) coming out of the pimple, about 1 cm long.

Today, the red spots have spread to the tail and dorsal fin. Now there are a total 5 spots. Each has some form of root or worm coming out of it. They seem to spread fast.

My camera is with my wife, who is now out-station. Sorry I couldn't take a photo.

I've changed 30% water, added salt. I plan to change water every 2 days. Should I try heating the water to 30 deg C?

I've done nothing different to arowana in the past one month, (or the past one year!). Normal feeding of frogs, crickets, and sometimes superworms. For tankmates, I have a 5 inch diamater stingray (Ptomogyron reticulata) and one pleco about 6 inch long. Nothing wrong with the tankmates.

If you have any advise, please share. I don't even know what kind of disease this is.
Again, sorry I don't have any photo yet.
Thank you in advance.

Unless you post a picture it's hard to figure out what to do.

Good luck to you.

It might be anchor worms or it might be just something else.

I had one friend who came this morning and confirmed it is anchor worm. Ugly looking things attached to the fin and tail section.

The LFS here sell this yellow powder which should cure the anchor worms, but he cautioned me not to overdose. I'll try it this evening, and will monitor the situation. Will update you guys soon on the progress (hopefully with photos as well!).

Thanks guys for the advice. I'm lucky that the stingray and pleco is still good. Also good to have detected it soon. If it happened while I was on 2 weeks holiday last month, my fish would probably be in bad shape by now.

I use OceanFree T2. Works great without the worry of overdosage.

What brand of yellow powder did he recommended? Is it working? :what:
