I know sunlight is supposed to be a whopping big No-No but does anyone expose their tank to a period of sunlight and not have an algae problem?

If so,

How long is the tank exposed?

What is the time of day the exposure occurs?

How big is the tank?

What other factors are involved?

I think all aq have direct light, even in short time, would have algae problem. One of the solution might be equipped the filtration system with UV lamp..., but I never try so far... Any :lightbulb: ...?

From my observation, the algae is from the water itself.

If using aged-tap water , no algae although it is with direct sunlight but if the tap water contaminated with the rain water, algae will come.
So make sure the aged water is not in open area to avoid rain water

I've tried several weeks with 24 hours light tanning (TFC 20 watt) with aqua size 110x60x60 cm and I didn't have this algae problem.
