4 hours ago my aro was swiming fine. later i came back i saw my aro taking big gulp, of air maybe. then from time to time he will twitch here and there. and his mouth will snap.. then taking bigger gulps. my aro is also swimming in a angle facing downwards something like this " \" not that bad but similar. also he is all flared up.. (fins). the worse part is when i turned off the lights thinking that might help... he starts acting really strange.. like swimming in circles. liek he's chasing his own tail. i have a power head and he seems to have a hard time swiming against it.. normally he loves it.

what ive done so far is up the temp to about 86 to 87.. added a little salt. and turned off the powerhead... and threw air stone in there for more oxygen. right now he isnt that bad but time to time he's darting around the tank twitching.

please advise, and thank you guys ahead of time. HELP...

Did you do anything to it before the above happen? Like water change, over feeding etc.

Agree with above advise water perameters especially...
Anything electrical in the tank? maybe a power leak to the water? are you grounded?

no.. pics guys, i know that would greatly help. my camera broke 3 days ago(dropped). i did wc about 3 days ago. it happend out of no where. i fed him early moring.... about 8 AM. then i kno this happend prolly about 930 or so when i left home to go out. i fed him SW before i left and this morning when i woke up i saw the sw floating around. so guessing he threw up last night... or this morning.

Sorry to ask, is sw in US easily to buy ? beside is the sw fresh ? Personal opinion, I use to be adding salt and healter at 30c....... to settle down the Aros movement, later I only monitoring whether the aro having internal problem or is a water perimeter fact of problem. Hope this is not to late for trying out.

Tail bitting ? during your pruchase, is this aro having bitting tail habit ? if NO, then have a close look at the tail ..... then try to tell us more on what you see.

What is you water PH & is your water direct from municiple water ?

it is not acutally tail biting. but his behavior is chasing his tail for 5 to 8 secs then twitch.. then he swims like he's having trouble. this is day 3 now.. the slanted swiming posture went away. he's swiming normal now. i checked everything from hater power head.. for electrical current. mainly what everbody advises is water change and all more salt.(all done). his diet consist of many things but that night was super worm. i buy them for 3 day feeding period then.. i dont buy it for a months worth of supplies. his other diet is market shrimp, dried shrimp, if im lucky he'll take in pellets. he gets fed every other day.

so far he is doing ok. with just little on the slow side with his swiming.. he usually patrols the whole tank. now just one half of the tank. im not going to feed him untill i feel that he is better. usually when i get home he goes straight to the corner for feeding he hasnt done it yet.

ill keep you guys updated, thanks for caring!!!!!!!!

Maybe something in the water or the food is making his tail itch. Just keep ,monitoring the water quality. keep it really clean.
