I just got a jardini and i notice he has 2 scales missing. It stands out because where the scales suppose to be, its a red mark.
Any special way i should treat this? Right now i have almond leaves in my tank with black water.
Also dosing melafix once in awhile.
Thanks

Good water management, some salt and good feeding will do the trick.

In addition to all advices already given by other good bros on here, if possible, try to find out and determine the cause of missing scales and take step(s) to eliminate/remove the cause such as ornamental fixture in the tank, sharp edge object , etc.. so that mishaps like this will not happen again. Your fish will recover though .

Same here as all the bros say so it will take some time for the scales to grow back. Dont worry
