what is the Best Tankmate?

It depends on the size of your aro. Try not to put other tankmates that swim on the surface of the water to compete with your aro as that would cause problems. I like datnoids, stingrays, perch, catfish. Usually the asian aro is the dominant fish in the tank.

Try to introduce a new tankmate like datnoids, parrot, stingray or pacu within the aro age like 8 to 10 months old.:teeth_smile:. Because on this age aro was very friendly and easy to adapt to any tankmates.....:thumbs_up:

I put a lot of kind of varieties of tankmates with my aros but now that still survive and exist are parrots, botias, and catfishes, looking forward in getting tigrinus catfish ( zebra catfish).

But sometimes with tank mates around, u can make the aro exercise by chasing them. Some tank mates also help to eat left over food and stimulate the appetite of the aro....

I usually put 3 small fishes (after 2 days quarantine with blue metil) / frogs every day so the ARO can chase them.
I am not sure we can call it tankmate or Diets, at least the aro is not lonely and can have exercise.

haha to me this is food, few days later, frog and small fish will be gone if put in my tank, cos they are slow......u will get those fish can swim fast, SD is one of them..

Stingray is the good one for a tankmate,but not too much,just need 1 or 2 for a 1,5m tank.They can clean up ur tank n also eat the rest of foods :pizza: n the dirty things :sad_smile: .They are strong fishes,friendly n dont bring any disease to ur tank!

I guess the aro has attacked your sucker fish. Try to put bigger one.

ya i think one large pleco, one large feifeng will just be good. tank clean and no one compete for food for aro. but if ur aro messy eater, get catfish and tinfoil barb.

Bro.. best tankmates also depend on ur aro temperament.. but i suggest feifeng, silver dollars, n tigers... redtail cat can outgrowth ur aro very fast cos growing rate is very very fast... but 1 things good abt RTC is a good at clearing leftover food... cheers...:011:

I have 2 blood parrots(breeders) but eggs no hatch, 3 clown loaches, red tail tinfoil barb, AAA flowerhorn(monkey face). Just bought the monkey face today seem to be getting along with my aro since both are still babies and are growing out to be best friends =D HOPEFULLY. This what drives my tank right now... Bp's pick on monkey face and very defensive when aro swim near but can't dominate my aro.. monkey face and aro pick on barb.. barb(chicken) friendly and don't pick on any.. loach, circus around and distract fish when theres conflict in the tank. Love my tank! Need a pleco(the last intruder) for my tank.
