Maybe you should change the diet, if you always give your aro feeder fish try to cut down slowly and try to give cricket or Super worm. I hope i will help:thinking2:

bro, previously my aro also got de. but what i did was, i took a big towel to cover the front tank and leave a few cm gap between the water level, so that the aro can look at those gap, preventing him from looking outside downwards. also put some ping pong ball (i put those different colour, dunno aro can see colour or not). it take me more than 1 months that the de slowly become ok.
but some people say that de also due to the aro diet. fatty food, they say can cause de, but dunno how accurate it is. suggest maybe feed your with mp.

Is that true feeder fish can make aro had DE:thinking: Usually what age that aro will kena DE ???:thinking2:
DE uaually happens to many Aro fish, so if your fish is not too serious don't be too worked up over a little DE. Enjoy the fish as a whole...
Some things to try and encourage the fish to look up are;
1. Ping Pong ball - place one on the water, until the fish gets used it, it will help it focus on top.
2. Hand blinking lights on top of the tank, it will attract it to look up.
3. Hang food on top during feeding - My favourite: I used to hold cut market prawns (without shell) with my fingers above the tank during feeding. This encourages them to look up, aim and jump for the food.
Now that my bigger fish is over 1 feet, I clip the prawn with a clothes peg, and tie a shoe string and hand it about 1 - 2 inches from the water. it becomes a really nice time everytime I feed the fish, and may help improve DE as the fish have to exercise looking up.
Note : Your Aro may start enjoying jumping more, so do ensure the tank covers are good and tight.

10. Drop Eyes
In the aquarium, one of the more common problems affecting Arowanas is Droop Eyes. This is a propensity for the eyes to tilt downwards. Droop Eyes is common in adult fish, and can affect either one or both eyes.
Droop Eyes is not caused by bacteria attack but rather by too much fatty food like beef heart fed to the fish and studies seem to indicates it's more likely to be genetic problem to all Arowanas, but Silver Arowanas is especially seem to be more prone to this condition. Other possible cause is Arowana looking downward to the bottom of the tank at its own reflection.
Possible cure for this are:
1. Transfer the Arowana into a earth pond
2. Place a red coloured floating objects to attract it to look upwards more often.
Since there is no known proven cure, prevention is better than cure. Therefore, when an Arowana suffers from Droop Eyes, it will never be fully recovered.
Another thing u can do is cover up ur tank with manila cardboard leavng about 1inch from the top for u to peep at ur fish. It may take 1 or more months to recover. Always feed wth floating food lke cricket or superworm. Don't allow uneaten food to stay on the bottom of the tank or any small fish to swim about on the bottom.:regular_smile:
