big 55 cm SR shot through 20mm thick glass like bullet

went to my friend place yesterday to see his 55 cm Sr that he want to let go, i bring along some big feeder fish for him as he ask for it, the fish had been starve for 2 weeks cause he wanted to train the fish to take frozen shrimp. after reach the place i immediatedly put the feeder fish into the tank, while admiring the fish with my friends suddenly we saw the fish darted to chase the feeder fish, then a loud bang sound, just like an explosion the aqua broke and the fish shot to another wall as the aqua is in one corner of an area of 6 m, we managed to move the fish to my place using baby bathtub. the fish lost alot of scales. now what stunned me is that the fish actually can broke the side of an aqua with 20mm glass thickness.
the aqua size is 150x70X70 with 20mm glass...

the glass crack like being hit by sledgehammer, the tank is only around 1 year, the fish just shot through the glass like missile.

as for adult arowana it very powerful in term of strength..................

the fish had gone to heaven liao.... ;( ;( ;( , yesterday received call from my staff saying that the fish had turned upside down, immediatedly called my friend to go to my place as i cannot leave office, after office rushed to the place i kept the fish and saw my friend still trying to save the fish by caressing and pumping oxygen to its mouth... so sad to see him so desperate, then he said if knew this would happen he would not mention to sell away his fish, maybe that is his badluck and the fish committed suicide ? ? ?

r u sure its 20mm thickness in a 150x70x70 tank?.. why the tank need so thick glass in just a 150 cm tank same as about 5ft tank?

Sorry for your friends loss.. .think the impact from breaking the thick glass did hurt the aro pretty bad and stress in the injury took its toll.Never thought that aro of that size can break 20mm glass like that.:surprise:
