My friend says that if the aro always likes to jump, he does not like the water. Maybe something in the water makes him want to get out... chemical, pH, amonia... you might want to check you water.

When aro always tries to jump, as you had indicated, when there isn't any food sources to bring forth such behavior, then the most likely reason is your aro does not like the water it's living . Too low/too high pH would cause this . Your aro is trying to escape ! So do check the pH and other tank's water parameters .
Aro staying/hiding in one corner of the tank at most/all times is a sign of stressed fish . Stresses could come from many sources : agressive tankmate, illness/infection, left over medication in tank water, adverse/deteriorating water conditions, extreme temperature, loneliness, or even too much traffics or repeated taps on the aquarium by children, etc . I am just listing them here because only you know what could or couldn't be the caus(es) , so you have to go through a process of elimination to pinpoint exactly what's the cause(es) . It could be just one or a combined causes, and take steps to give you beloved aro a stress free living environment .
But you should first check all your aquarium's water parameters, filtration system (including the filtering medias) for these usually are the primary causes of such behaviors observed in your aro , and change them accordingly if neccessary . Good luck bro .

Morphine,
Great advise and routes to follow..  :hand:
For Aro, I will always very seriously check on nitrite every other day. When it's reach around 0.50~1.0ppm(mg/L), Aro tends act crazy.... So WC frequently with aged water is the formula.... But of course, there are many other like Morphine mentions below... I found many time that if you are Aro lover that only love to have it alone in the tank, Children around is a no no...... :011: :upset:
By the way MORPHINE, just curiosity. Why is your username Morphine? Or that is your Real Name??:011:

bro there may be a lot of factor that result this, may be the water condition not as good, or may be u can try add in a power head to blow to make current, or can try add in tank mates :)
