No doubt Malaysian Golden is originated here but nowadays Singapore farms do breed high quality fishes too. I won't reveal which farms produce the best simply bcos its a very sensitive issue. I don't know about other parts of Malaysia but in Penang, LFS selling below 6inches varies from RM2,800 ~ RM4,500 depending on the perfectness. I've posted a thread recently on Approx. Price of Aros but only our Singapore bros reply still waiting for Indonesians, Thais and other parts to tell us the price.

U can’t blame the S’pore Farms for that. This is business and survival. As u know, S’pore land is limited and expensive. Overheads and costing are very much higher as compared to Malaysia and Indonesia. It is better to go into trading exploiting the convenience and facilities of S’pore as an international trading and transition centre. Understand most S’pore Farms have either joint-venture or partnerships in many new farms in Malaysia and Indonesia. It is a win-win. After all, S’pore, Malaysia and Indonesia have been co-existed in such practices in so many types of trades for hundreds of years. S’pore does the marketing and sale, whereas Malaysia and Indonesia do the manufacturing and production. It is good partnership.
Yes, most S’pore farms besides having own breeding, yet, most of their high quality Aro youngs are imported from Malaysia and Indonesia. After all, most high quality Xback and SR parent stocks are purchased from Malaysia and Indonesia farms originally. Anyway, like it or not, S’pore alone with its limited resources such as land, man-power and other essentials can never breed enough of high quality fishes to meet the overwhelming and fast growing international demand………:D:up::up::hand:

Yes, I agree that the opinion of Rahimi, the Cross Back is the only one coming from Malaysian, especially in the Bukit Merah Lake in Perak and Bera Lake in Pahang.
